I am a huge fan of Just Bewteen Friends.  The first year I participated, I made enough money to purchase our then 3 year old daughter's 10 day pass to Disney World.  We had a great time and still have days left to use up.  This most recent time that I consigned for JBF, I did so with my best friend in mind.

My oldest and dearest friend, Holly lives in St. Louis, MO.  We have been friends since our freshman year in high school, which makes that 21 years now.  She was the last one in our group of friends to get married and then the last to finally get pregnant.  She became pregnant with TWINS!   After having my two children, and Holly being a great long distance support the entire time, and knowing that I was finished with all my baby stuff,  I immediately verbally "willed" it to Holly.  One problem...the distance.  FInally realizing that it didn't make financial or logistical sense to rent a U-Haul and tote all the baby paraphenalia across country, I decided to part with my baby goods via JBF.  I knew that with whatever funds I made, I would purchase a last minute airline ticket to St. Louis just after the girls were born and help Holly with the initial transition into motherhood.  Holly is an only child and didn't have any babysitting experience growing up, so she was a fish out of water to say the least.  I was able to spend an entire week with her, getting up with all the night feedings, running back and forth to various stores for erands, and supporting her as much as possible.  I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to help her out in that way.  I believe it was worth more to her for me to be there with her, than to have all of my baby stuff.  Through Just Between Friends, I was able to give my best friend what she really needed..a good friend in a time of need.
Looking forward to the spring sale!

I look forward to the Just Between Friends Sales and start planning my purchases early.  I've bought maternity clothes, puzzles, a stroller, brand new bottles, tons of cute clothes for my kids, etc. I really do look forward to the sale knowing that I'm going to find some great deals.  Last year I was pregnant with my second child, but first daughter.  I found an adorable Christmas pant outfit that easily would have cost me $50 in the store and I bought it for $4.  Knowing that she would only be able to wear it a couple of times for Christmas, I never could have justified a $50 purchase, but JBF made the decision easy for me.  I feel lucky knowing that we have something like this in our community, especially since kid's clothes are so expensive for the limited time they are worn.

My name is Mandy Horne. I love Just Between Friends (JBF). My JBF experience began when I lived in
Waco. That JBF at that time was very small since it had just started but I loved the concept of being able to sell my gently used items & buy others gently used items. It is nice to choose a price for your items & whether you want them to be sold at ½ price or not, you are in control & you can make 65-70%. I also became involved in the Dallas, Ft.Worth  & other sales. Those sales were HUGE & I then knew the potential of what new JBF's will eventually become. The Amarillo one is beginning to grow & I bet you will never want to stop once you go.  JBF's are twice a year & so fun. The most fun is volunteering & getting to know other moms. You will want to volunteer not only for the extra % of sales, but mainly to get to shop early. The best bargains go FAST.  How much you make at a sale depends on how much you have to sell, the quality of your items, & the demand of your items, etc.  My first few sales I made what I thought was a lot, but as the years have gone by & my kids are getting older I have found more & more to sell such as baby equipment, decorations in their rooms, videos, old books & toys, etc.  The last few sales I have made a LOT more than those first 2 sales. My husband no longer puts the kids clothing or holiday gifts in the budget because I can pay for it through JBF.  Its been a great help to our budget & hopefully will be to yours also.  It can look intimidating at first to get your things prepared for a sale, but once you do it the first time it is so simple. I'm sure most current consignors or Camille would be happy to show you how to get started. It will all be worth it.  It helps to know there are other consignors & Camille to ask questions. Join in on the fun, make money, tell your friends & strangers about it. The more that consign, the more items to choose & buy from. The more shoppers you tell, the more to buy our items & thus more money we make.   Check out this  You Tube video clip of another JBF that is really BIG, but Amarillo can become this big as we spread the word

The Just Between Friends events inspire me to clean out our closets twice a year. What a great feeling to know that the items your family has "outgrown" can be passed on to another family at a great price! We find quality clothing and toys to purchase at each event at a fraction of their retail value. I always sign up to volunteer because the people are such fun to be around and the perks such as the worker’s presale are fantastic. This event is truly a blessing for families in the Amarillo area.

What a great event! This is a super time to earn a good amount of money for clothes my daughter has outgrown. I always find such great deals on adorable clothes she can wear in the coming seasons. It is such a fun event to attend and be a part of. I will continue to do this twice a year EVERY year!!! I tell everyone I know about it. I will never use another consignment store! Just Between Friends is the easiest way to clean out the closets. It’s also fun to get everything ready and remember when they wore certain outfits!

I have been a consignor for a while now. I love getting all my stuff ready to sell. I love to buy other people’s stuff as well. But, so far, the best thing that this sale has come up with is the merchandise template. I don’t know who thought of this or created it, but you get a gold star in my book. That has taken hours off of my prep time and more time to my kids. I absolutely love it. Thank you again. I am ready to shop. Where are the deals?!

I first attended a JBF sale in the spring of 2004. I was pregnant with my second son and was due in 4 weeks and had NOTHING for him to wear. Not only that but it was beginning to warm up and I had nothing to wear as well. I was absolutely amazed at the selection of clothing! There was adorable maternity clothing! The stuff I bought for my 2 boys were in great condition. I was thrilled when I got home with my findings. I still got great stuff even after the workers got to shop.

In the Fall of 2004, I decided to be a consigner and a worker. It was a great experience. Daven was a blast to work with and to talk to. My 5 hours that I spent working with her went by SO fast. It was worth it too! I got adorable stuff from the worker pre-sale. I had spent $40 just a week before the sale on a pair of Nike Shox for my oldest and found a pair his size for 3 dollars! AMAZING! I did outstanding on my end as a consigner! What I spent at the sale was just over half of what I made selling. It's almost like exchanging your kids clothes that they have out grown for new stuff and making money at the same time! Best part is, I spent about 200 and both of them had their closets full of cute clothes!

I am consigning and have recently completed 10 of my 12 hours for my worker pre sale pass. I had a blast at Daven's and Shannon's! It's not often I get to meet new people. These moms that help out at the sales are so sweet. I am So very pleased that you have set up JBF in Tulsa for all us moms looking for adorable clothes at awesome prices! Thank you ever so much.

I first saw an ad in the Tulsa World (as I was an avid garage saler - note: was!) in the fall of 1998. When later that weekend I saw an a-frame plywood sign with the same title, "Just Between Friends" as the ad, my curiousity was peeked. I mentioned the relationship to my husband and we agreed that a consignment shop must be going out of business or something of similar nature. Later the next day, I followed the directions to a home with my then 5 year old and 6 month old baby in tow. As I walked up to the driveway a beautiful, vibrant lady with a dentist dream smile asked me if I would like to be on their mailing list. I thought she had been in the sun a little too long because I had not once been to a garage sale that put me on a mailing list. But she was not a telemarketer, but rather a proverbs 31 woman who pointed me to her proverbs 31 partner to "sign me up". I purchased one item that day. It was the end of the "3 day" sale, on a Saturday, already well into the evening. I paid about $5 for an outstanding brand new condition Christian Dior boys dress suit w/shirt. I could not have imagined what jbf would do for me and my family and how it would grow to what it is today either! My entreprenuer firstborn was six that next spring and he worked the sale with me at the church building. He has always been business minded and was already bagging and asking customers if they wanted their hangars at that tender age. He has worked every sale since. I can't not work the sale even when I barter because he loves to work the sale. Most importantly, I have had two more children since (now 12, 7, 5, and 2 - we finally got a girl!) and jbf has been so critical to my family's financial ability to provide infant necessities, clothing, and desires of our children's hearts, that I have been known to work the sale after working all night, and was shopping three days after my daughter's and working 5 days after her birth. It was necessary. Neither Shannon nor Daven know me other than as a "consignor/friend" for the past six years and neither know of the times I have been brought to tears of thankfulness when leaving a sale for the ability to provide for our children what I otherwise could not. I remember when I shopped one of the earlier sales and thought $75 was "breaking the bank", now it's not unusal for me to spend $350-650. . .and my sales (reimbursement? :) ) check is always close to the same. Who would have imagined a business that could bring a family's clothes and educational/fun toy budget almost to $0, and have them looking "first class"? Daven and Shannon that's who! Thanks ladies! and Thanks be to God!!

I first went to one of your sales 3 years ago when I was pregnant with my 1st son. I just couldn't believe the turn out. The clothes, the shoes, the toys, the EVERYTHING! Now, that I have 2 boys ages 2 1/2 yrs. and 13 months old, I look forward to what I can buy them at each sale! And I can't wait to sell my boys clothes. They grow SO fast! Thanks again and I will see ya in March!

I just went to the August shopping "spree". WOW! what a wonderful event. I have so many clothes for my daughter that I don't know what she will wear first. Thank God for you guys. If it weren't for this sale I wouldn't have been able to afford many clothes. I have told all of my friends about you. Thanks!!
